A summer concert to raise the spirits and leave you smiling!
We start our programme with Gerald Finzi’s glorious anthem “My spirit sang all day”, and continue with a selection of joyous pieces, including Stanford’s moving “Beati quorum via” and Vaughan William’s setting of “Let all the World in every corner sing”.
In the second half we include 3 madrigals which contrast with Lauridsen’s ethereal song “Sure on this shining night”. We continue with our own Chris Phelps’ arrangements of three Beatles songs and end with a flourish with his settings of two rousing Queen ‘anthems’!
